Smith's Family Greengrocer is a long running family business (est 1983). When in the early beginnings Andy's Dad delivered door to door the delights of his locally sourced fruit and vegetables. As times changed the rising generation expanded the business. Andy and Jan Smith are the proud owners of this wonderful business and they have created an environment that is more than spacious and light, offering more variety, more local produce and is generally more comfortable to shop in, with ample parking at the front or rear. They still offer a delivery service to local residents which remains a success.
The last few years trade seems to have got better and better with more people than ever before taking advantage of their great products, which are all locally sourced and some of which come from the family allotment. Andy and Jan have added some modern touches to the business taken from their own experiences, which have brought in a new market of young professionals and students in the area. The shop provides fresh smoothies and juices on demand and there are two different home-made soups each day. This is an ideal breakfast and lunch for a busy working person to still get their five a day from organic, home-made products.
Smith's Family Greengrocer has always and still does aim to give their customers fair prices and wholesome produce. Andy and Jan have taken a huge amount of inspiration from their children and are always open to new ideas and suggestions. Sticking by the family business aims for their new shop, they want to bring health and nutrients to the young people as well as their existing customers without being overpriced. The couple understand how hard and expensive it is to stay healthy and they are doing everything they can to keep costs down. They have deals on bulk orders, seasonal fruit and vegetables are always on offer.
